I like my job, do you???

I just started a new position about 2 months ago and I have to say I really like it. This is my 2nd position in the same company, going on 4 years there total as of the end of November, and I will say that this position is so much better than the 1st one. I work in the Accounts Payable department but my position is Vendor Correspondence. What I do is pay back money that is owed to the vendors that I am responsible for their merchandise, whether it is for the full invoice or a shortage.
I have so much work to do all the time, which is good and bad. It's good because I am never bored but bad because things get piled up. We get a lot of phone calls (which is good for me b/c I am a chatty kathy anyways, LOL), constant emails, and constant faxes, along with mail that comes in on a daily basis. I like having a job where I am never bored, and that is what I got, and that makes the day fly by so fast.
I was told by my boss that from Day 1 and when I had my interview that this was going to be a very challenging position, and that it will take a good 6 months before I can truly know anything and handle a lot of things on my own. You know, I was like, great! In my other position, I did the same thing all the time and there was times when I was bored because I was all caught up. I will say that it was nice sometimes to have just about nothing to work on, but then the days just dragged, so that sucked. Now there is so many different things that I am responsible for and it is not the same thing every day. Yay!
My bosses are really cool and so down to earth, which makes my work day easy too. My manager swears sometimes right in front of me, and not in a serious way. One day I was in her office and she was reading an email that she got, and she didn't like what she saw, and says, I don't want your shitty old work, and then she sticks her middle finger up towards the monitor. That was great!
When I was in my other department, I felt like I was on 24 hour watch. My bosses were tolerable some of the time, but other times they creeped me out. I was working in another building then, and my boss's boss was someone who was a major bitch and a half and spread her negativity with a lot of us, making us unhappy there. She practically ruled the downstairs half of that building. She was too god damn anal and rude. Thank god I don't have to deal with that anymore.
The only bad thing about work is the commute there. I drive to work on one of the busiest highways in my state, but it is worth it. Does anyone else enjoy their job, or have they had it?

Blogger k o w: I used to enjoy it but since they strapped me to a desk the only good thing about it is I can be on the internet all day. 3:36 PM

Blogger Antek: My job blows.... underpaid and generally screwed around with, get me outta there AHHHHH 9:17 PM

Blogger Jenni: Heather, I have to say that I USED to enjoy my Job. I love being a soldier. Sure, there I some mornings I would rather stay in bed then go to PT at 0600... but I do it. I love the soldier part of my Job. What I hate is the "hospital" part of my Job. I hate being stuck in here doing the same monotonous job every day. I would LOVE being in the field and feeling like a real soldier... but most days here... I feel like an underpaid civilian who is forced to follow a STRICT dress code! I can't wait to start my NEW job... still in the medical stuff.... but away from the Hospital and working with soldiers all day! ROCK ON! 12:39 PM

Blogger Silver: Jenni, is it better than Old Navy? :-D 12:12 PM

It's official, I have lost 10 lbs

I have finally lost 10 lbs and I am very happy about it. My exact total is 10.5 so far. Yay! I have been struggling all week because for one, I did not work out the 3 days I am supposed to, I only did 2 because I was not feeling well the 3rd day. The other reason is I was slightly not eating right, but I managed to stay at the same weight, which I can't complain about. This morning I stepped on the scale right after I woke up and used the bathroom and I was 2 lbs less than I was yesterday and the whole week. It definitely put a smile on my face. Today is Day 1 one of my new workout week and I will make the most of it. I ate a healthy lunch which is good, but I hope I do ok with dinner. Dave and I are going to my friend's house tonight and she is making baked ziti. Yum! We are going to have to watch our portion sizes but I think we will be ok for the most part. Rock!

Blogger Silver: 10 pounds good!
Cheesecake bad! 10:43 PM

Blogger Frontallobe: Nicely done! 9:18 AM

8 lbs lost and Counting

It may not seem like a lot, but I have shed 8 pounds and I feel slightly better about myself. Dave however has lost 20 and I am so thrilled for him! Dave and many others have said that men tend to lose weight faster than women, which kind've sucks because I want to drop a bunch of weight and it is taking longer than I thought, but I know it will happen eventually. My goal is to drop another 40 lbs, but I am not sure if my body will let me take that much off in addition to the 8 so far. What shocked me a lot, is when I went to the doctor's for my physical about a little over a month ago, and to note my last visit was January of 2004. I did the whole weighing in thing, check my height, etc. After doing that I went in to my doctor's office to talk for a few about my health and all that. I had mentioned that I am on this new workout/meal plan b/c I feel unhappy with the way I look. She says to me that is great, but to let me know that the last time I was there, back in January of 2004, I was 26 lbs less. Hearing that made my mouth just drop so low. I never thought I had gained so much weight but I did, but knew what I needed to do now. I am on Week 8 of my Bowflex program now and I am on a great meal plan as well that lets me still have the things I enjoy eating. I know down the line I will look and feel even better, and glad I stuck with it. Maybe tomorrow I will be down another pound. Only 1.5 to go to hit 10 lbs.

Blogger Jenni: Heather hun, just stick with it. I am the prime example of what happens when you let it get to you... you relaps and it sucks. Although, I did gain about 2 lbs, I still feel thinner, nad got in to a pair of Jeans I haven't worn in 2 years... Like 2 months ago, I couldn't get them over my butt, let alone button them. They are tight, but I FEEL different. So maybe 8lbs is good.... I gained weight and put on muscle... maybe you are too! 11:54 PM

Blogger Silver: The other thing to remember is...what weighs more? Muscle or fat? Muscle of course! So while you ladies may be loosing fat, you could be gaining some muscle, which will make it appear as if all that work ain't doing squat.

The longer you stick with it consistently, you'll see it drop off weekly. Figure it like this. The 1st week all we did was change what we ate, and I lost 10 pounds instantly. But to get from 217 to 207 took 5 to 6 weeks.

That averages out to over 1.5 pounds per week of weight loss.
Chin up ladies!
Just go over to Andy's site to check out a ripped lad. 1:17 PM

Blogger Frontallobe: Just keep with it Heather and you'll see the results. As you know there is no secret. It's dedication, diet, and excersize. Keep rocking sexy mamma! 11:59 AM

Blogger Red Sox Fanatic: Sexy mama...now that just made my day! :o) I am very much into all this and I aint stoppin anytime soon. I can't wait till I have a rockin body! I will be updating my blog when I drop more weight so please do check back and/or feel free to add me to your blog friend list. Thank you very much for your support man. 12:50 PM

Blogger Aaron: That completely rocks Heather!

String Cheese = Yummy

I have not had string cheese in a long time, but after buying it this past weekend during me and Dave's weekly food shopping trip, I have to say it is one of my new favorite snacks now. I like it so much that I peel off the strings little by little just to make it last. Seems kind've lame but whatever. It is also healthy too which is great b/c it fits into my meal plan that I am curre, ntly on. I think the label said it is only 90 calories as a whole piece. Not too shabby! Man I wish I ate it a lot more when I was younger. Oh yeah, I have to say thanks to Jenni too for bringing up the idea of string cheese as a snack. Jenni is the one who mentioned the item to Dave and then he brought it to my attention, and now it is sitting in our refrigerator. Woo-hoo!

Blogger Jenni: Ah the wonders of String cheese! I actually ama CHEESE FANATIC, and I am VERY picky. In the regular store it is all gourmet/organic, unless it is Sargeanto cheese. I buy their Light String cheese... same great flavor, 50 CALROIES per Stick So, to stay under the 100 call snack limit... I can EAT TWO!!!! *smiles* *Jumps for Joy* I usually only eat one, but it's nice to know I can indulge a bit if I want to. Glad you are enjoying it! 10:39 PM

Blogger Silver: mmmm, good stuff! 10:46 PM

Blogger Melvin "eM" Arroyo: my daughter loves cheese. I like it from time to time, but love the string cheese melted on bagels, yum yum... 9:14 PM

Massachusetts State Police corvettes...weird...but cool

I wanted to share this with everyone, not sure if anyone else has noticed this too. I was on my way back from lunch break yesterday, driving on this road that is almost like a major highway, but is located in the shopping district. I had the radio going, the windows down and just cruising. I turned my head for a second when all of a sudden I see this corvette...and what do you freakin know it is the Massachusetts State Police, just like the normal Ford Crown Victoria's I see around the state. I couldn't believe my eyes! I did a double take just to make sure that is what I really saw. I was like, damn! I guess they must use those for high speed chases. Has anyone ever seen this type of car as a state police cruiser on the road before? I have seen other types being used like the SUV, but nothing like this. Maybe it has been around for a while and I just have not seen it.

Blogger Silver: A true classic. I wonder when they'll purchase the State Police Enzo... One can only hope, but then our tax dollars would be misused, and people would be fucking pissed.

But still, how cool would that be to see "Trooper Dan" pulling over some idiot on the Pike in an Enzo??? lol 12:41 PM

Blogger Antek: welcome my newbie friend, good to see you around the wack world of blogs, but damn girl... you bit off my template ;-) 12:01 PM

Blogger Melvin "eM" Arroyo: when i lived there not sure if they had them, but i know i was stopped by a few of them troopers. I had to come out my pocket with some serious fines. 9:58 PM

Blogger k o w: They ruined a perfectly good car with that paint job. 1:13 PM

Blogger Silver: And Philadelphia ruined a perfectly good football team. The only difference here is that the car looks alot better. 10:19 PM
